Biography

Gaëll Mainguy is a former pupil of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and a Doctor in neurobiology (Pierre and Marie Curie University). He successively worked for the CNRS (Paris), the Center for Biomedical Genetics (Utrecht, The Netherlands) and the INSERM (Paris). In 2004, he is elected President of the World Association of Young Scientists (WAYS) an international network founded by UNESCO dedicated to develop interactions between young scientists across the world.In 2006, Gaëll Mainguy joined the Veolia Environment Institute, where he founded S.A.P.I.EN.S, Surveys and Perspectives Integrating Environment and Society, a new peer-reviewed, Open Access, multidisciplinary journal that seeks to address the complexity of the interactions between society and the environment. He is currently the S.A.P.I.EN.S.' Editorial Director.
