Biography
Dr Janet Cotter has been working with the Greenpeace International Science Unit, based at the University of Exeter, UK for over 8 years. Prior to working at Greenpeace, she was a lecturer in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. This appointment followed the award of a 3 year postdoctoral research fellowship, held at Manchester University, after gaining a PhD from Imperial College, University of London. Dr Cotter’s main area of expertise is terrestrial ecological systems, specialising in biogeochemistry. She supplies scientific leadership for Greenpeace’s offices worldwide in their agriculture and forests campaigns.
